For four months, sixteen women dedicated themselves to improving their business management skills. These women make up the second promotion of this program. In the first cohort earlier in 2023, nine other women had already embarked on this adventure of training as entrepreneurs.

One of the graduates of second cohort is Laura Rodríguez. “I am one of the participants in this event and my service is pet care at home. Depending on what the client requires, I am here to serve you. I grabbed all the tools, all the knowledge,” said she, a native of the state of Toluca with 23 years living here in Denver.

Her participation in this program allowed Laura to start planning her future business. “Thanks to everything that I have been able to learn in this program, I am already thinking about what my steps would be for the future. I want to open a cafe where I can provide more services, more than pet care” reveals Laura.

The allies

This training program is the result of the alliance of the Consulate General of Mexico in Denver with other organizations. Strategic allies of this program are the Office of International Affairs and Immigration of the city of Aurora and the Minority Business Office of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade.

At the same time, the Foundation “Amigos de México” has become the great promoter of this program. “Providing training to establish businesses, or make them grow, is a critical factor that contributes to the well-being and prosperity of many Hispanic families. Women in particular need this support”, said Bianca Gardié, president of the foundation.
