On March 27th, “Eco Cultura in Action” pays tribute to Mexican women with music, cinema, and discussion. At the event next Wednesday, organized by Americas por la Conservación y las Artes (AFCA) and CREA Results, the audience will enjoy a special evening highlighting the talent and diversity of Mexican women entrepreneurs.

The event will feature a performance by the Aztec dance group, “Danza Tlahizcalli,” offering a captivating performance celebrating Mexican culture and tradition. Additionally, a documentary will be screened highlighting the inspiring stories of outstanding women such as Jessica Perez, a climber; Martha Diaz, a chef; and Yunen Macedo, a practitioner of Aztec dance.

Screening of the film “Tesoros”

The centerpiece of the evening will be the screening of the film “Treasures” by Mexican filmmaker María Novaro. This award-winning film will immerse us in a heartwarming story told from the perspective of children, celebrating childhood, family, and the natural environment that surrounds us. Novaro will join us virtually to introduce the unique work that has received numerous awards and accolades.

“We are thrilled to continue highlighting, during this Women’s History Month, the invaluable contributions of these eco-cultural leaders, including an Aztec dancer, mountain climber, cosmobiologist, chef, producer, and film director, who together embody the best of the human spirit. The goal of this series is to reconnect our communities with the spiritual strength of our ancestral cultures, providing a unique and healing well-being like no other,” said Irene Vilar, the driving force behind “Eco Cultura in Action.”
