We spoke with Rick Schott, Republican Senator, about President Joe Biden’s first year in office. “The Biden Administration does not have a plan… he’s just reactionary. He doesn’t solve problems,” said Scott. However, this Senator for Florida partially agreed with Biden on Ukraine. “I think the sanctions are the right thing to do”, he concluded.
Jesus Sanchez Melean: According with your view, what is the greatest failure of the Biden administration?
Senator Rick Scott: The big thing is the Biden Administration does not have a plan. He doesn’t. He doesn’t solve problems. So you look at the borders open. You look at the schools. These are still closed in some places. You look at everything, is expensive. He didn’t…He didn’t prevent Putin from attacking Ukraine. So it’s like, you know, he didn’t have to give Putin the pipeline. He did. He didn’t do the sanctions until afterwards. And so, he’s just reactionary. He doesn’t solve problems.
JS: What has the Biden administration done right?
RS: I think. You know, since Russia’s attacked Ukraine, I think shutting down the pipeline was the right thing to do. I think the sanctions are the right thing to do. He could do more. I think making sure that the United States and our allies provide resources to the Ukrainian government to defend itself is good. I mean, the issue, the issue is still, if they would have done it early, then hopefully this wouldn’t have happened.
