The most important international event in all of Colorado returns in person. Countries from all the continents are represented at this event. And it is no coincidence that the Global Fest takes place in Aurora. This is the most diverse city in all of Colorado and one of the most multicultural cities in all of the United States. In this city there are migrants and refugees who speak about 170 different languages.
All this diversity is represented at the Global Fest. Those who attend the event will be able to appreciate a colorful parade of typical costumes; they will enjoy dances and music from many regions of the world; and they will taste exquisite food from the countries of origin of thousands of refugees and immigrants who now live in Aurora. The Global Fest provides the opportunity to discover new cultures and interact with the communities that represent them.
The event is part of the city of Aurora’s effort to integrate all those who have chosen this city as their new home. “The dissemination of culture plays a fundamental role in our integration plan for refugees and immigrants. Culture is part of the identity and constitutes the best way to achieve an understanding between all the residents of the city”, said Ricardo Gambetta, director of the Office of International Affairs and Immigration, the entity in charge of promoting the Global Fest.
Local Talent
The integration carried out by the city also involves giving support to small migrant entrepreneurs who will be at the event promoting their products and services. Many of these migrants will also share their talents with the attendees of the event. In this way, the Global Fest program includes the presentation of Fiebre del Sabor, Perú Qwasa, Desi Caliente, Oromo de Ethiopia, República Rock, Copechi, Sangre de México, Basma dance, Gloria Choir and CNSF Latin dance, among many others.
