Discover Eco Cultura en Acción, a monthly event that combines environmental awareness, art, and family fun. The organizers, Americas For Conservation & the Arts (AFCA) along with CREA Results and Denver Arts & Venues, invite the community to immerse themselves in a culture-filled and educational environment at the emblematic Bug Theatre in Denver.
The Eco Cultura en Acción series will kick off with a diverse program that includes a performance by the Puerto Rican group “Soldevila y los Pleneros.” At the same time, the Cuban film Los Hermanos/The Brothers will be screened. Following its screening, there will be a Q&A session with Marcia Jarmel and Ken Schneider, the directors of the film.
Attendees can register to receive a cultural passport with free entry to 8 cultural destinations in Denver, valued at $600 for a family of 5. Additionally, they can enjoy complimentary popcorn and fresh drinks courtesy of the event, as well as purchase empanadas, beverages, beer, and wine to enhance the experience.
Nature, Art, and Health
“Our intention is for everyone to discover the health benefits offered by nature and the arts,” said Irene Vilar, founding director of AFCA. Vilar emphasized that this series of events is made possible by the support of organizations such as CREA Results and Denver Art & Venues due to the community impact they aspire to have. The first edition of Eco Cultura en Acción in 2024 will feature the presence of Tariana Navas-Nieves, deputy director of Denver Art & Venues.
Last Wednesday of Each Month
Children and students attend for free, while adults are invited to make a $5.00 donation. This series will take place on the last Wednesday of each month throughout 2024. The organizers will be bringing to the community an exciting collection of cinematic, performance, and literary offerings that provide illuminating perspectives on ecological and cultural stewardship traditions of the Americas. The series is curated to showcase the health services that nature and the arts provide.
