Carla Colin Ricárdez, entrepreneur and founder of Mi Casa Azul LLC, has been appointed as the executive president of the Boulder County Latina Chamber of Commerce. This executive has held several positions within the organization and now assumes the role of its first executive president. Born in Mexico City, Colin Ricárdez has been recognized for her dedication to work and commitment to the Latino community in Colorado.
A graduate in Social Work with a Diploma in the prevention and detection of domestic violence, Colin Ricárdez has faced numerous challenges on her path to success as a Latina woman, person of color, with English as a second language, and as an immigrant. For her, these have not been obstacles. She has maintained a positive focus, prioritizing continuous education and learning from her own and others’ experiences.
Colin Ricárdez has emphasized the importance of creating inclusive opportunities for Latino and minority entrepreneurs and business owners in Colorado. “My main plan as the executive president of the Chamber will be to open doors to new fields in workforce development for the new majorities, as well as promoting a more inclusive and equitable business environment,” she stated.
Board Member of Several Organizations
In addition to her work as an entrepreneur and chamber executive, Colin Ricárdez is recognized for her support of other professionals, entrepreneurs, and businesswomen. Her commitment to collective growth and success demonstrates her inspirational leadership in the Latino community of Colorado. She serves on the boards of the Museum of the Americas, Visit Longmont, TinkerMill, and the New Americans Community Advisory Committee.
Colin Ricárdez is an example of perseverance, consistency, talent, and discipline. From being a DACA recipient for nearly 10 years to founding her own company, Mi Casa Azul LLC, she has shown that with determination and effort, great achievements can be reached. Her exemplary trajectory and commitment to the community make her a role model for future generations of Latino entrepreneurs in Colorado.
Inspirational Film
The Latino Chamber of Commerce of Boulder County will be screening the inspiring movie “A Million Miles Away.” This production narrates José Hernández’s journey from the fields of the San Joaquin Valley to fulfilling his dream of becoming an astronaut at NASA. Hernández currently leads an aerospace company and a vineyard.
He graduated from the University of California and now serves as one of the regents on the board of the California State University system. Hernández has been closely involved in the development of the University of California, Merced, which conducts research in the agricultural area. “It’s the story of a Hispanic man who achieved his dreams. We invite you to watch it,” concluded Colin.
