The summer is in full force in Colorado and temperatures are quickly rising and reaching the triple digits. What better way to beat the heat than staying at home and cooling off in front of the TV for a few hours? July is packed with new releases for all ages, and here we will tell you the best shows and movies you can watch this weekend!

THE BOBS BURGER MOVIE (HULU/HBO MAX)


The Belchers are at it again! A sinkhole forms in front of the beloved Bob’s Burgers restaurant, and as the adults try to figure out a way to keep their business afloat, the kids try to solve a mystery that might save their family, and even the whole town. Fun for fans of the show and new watchers alike, this is fun for the whole family.

Growing up is hard, and growing up in your 20’s is even harder. 22 year old Andrew moves back in with his mother for the summer as he works odd jobs to save money for a trip to Barcelona. He is hired by the local mothers as a bar mitzvah party host, and in the party circuit he strikes up a unique friendship with a young woman and her teenage daughter.

PERSUASION (NETFLIX)

An adaptation of the novel by the queen of romance, Jane Austen, Persuasion is about missed connections and second chances. Anne Elliot, our protagonist, was convinced by her family to not marry the man of her dreams, Frederick Wentworth. When he crashes back into her life, she must choose between putting the past behind her or listening to her heart when it comes to second chances.

Sandra Bullock returns to the romantic comedy genre as reclusive author Loretta Sage. She writes about exotic places in her popular adventure novels that feature a handsome cover model named Alan. When Loretta gets kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire, Alan sets off to rescue her, determined to prove he can be a hero in real life and not just on the pages of her books.

BOO, B*TCH (NETFLIX)

A silly, fun miniseries for young teens and adults alike, this show poses the very serious question: what happens after we die? In this series, two best friends make a last attempt to make their mark in school after being ignored by everyone all four years. But when one of them becomes a ghost, she will need to live her best life before her time on earth runs out.

MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU

The minions are back! In this zany family comedy set in the 1970s, young Gru tries to join a group of supervillains, the Vicious 6. When the interview turns disastrous, Gru and his Minions go on the run with the Vicious 6 hot on their tails. Luckily, he finds an unlikely source for guidance and soon discovers that even bad guys need a little help from their friends.
