Denver is gearing up for a grand celebration of the 37th edition of the Cinco de Mayo Festival, one of Colorado’s most iconic cultural events. Organized by NEWSED Community Development Corporation, the festival will take place on Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the historic Civic Center Park in the heart of the city. The event honors the Mexican army’s victory in Puebla in 1862 and today stands as a vibrant celebration of culture, freedom, and unity.

The festival will feature the traditional Community Parade on Saturday, May 3, starting at 11:00 a.m., marching through downtown Denver and ending at the park. Once there, attendees can enjoy a bustling fair with delicious Mexican cuisine, local artisan vendors, and a marketplace showcasing Latino entrepreneurship. The Civic Center Park will come alive with three stages hosting music and dance performances throughout the weekend.

Special events include chihuahua races, a taco-eating contest, and the impressive Lowrider Car Show. Admission is free, offering an unparalleled opportunity to enjoy two days full of joy, culture, and entertainment in the heart of Denver. The festival is a must for families of all ages and backgrounds, highlighting Denver’s diverse and inclusive spirit.

Stars on Stage

The main stage will feature renowned performers lighting up the Greek Amphitheater on 14th Avenue. Saturday’s lineup kicks off with the Fiesta Colorado Community Dance Company led by Jeanette Trujillo Lucero, followed by the regional powerhouse La Rancherita de Colorado. Later, Mariachi Internacional will bring tradition to the stage. The day continues with folkloric dance by Lisa Trujillo and her troupe, leading up to high-energy performances by Los de Sonora and a grand finale by Tiranos Del Norte.

On Sunday, the celebration continues with more talent on display. Mariachi América will deliver a heartfelt concert of traditional music, followed by Retro Norteño and a repeat folkloric performance by Lisa Trujillo. Cumbia and upbeat rhythms will follow with Reyes del Huepa, and one of the most emotional moments of the festival will be a tribute to Selena performed by Mayra Alejandra. The Sunday finale will feature Los García Bros., known for their northern-style energy and strong connection with the audience.
