Tom Kim is running for the state Senate in District 27. This district includes Aurora known to be one of the more diverse areas in the United States. Kim’s vision for the district is to initially go back to the ways he remembers growing up there, where there was less concern on crime and more importance on safety and school performance. A vision for a better school performance where students graduating from high school are prepared for whatever it is they want to do in the world.

Not only does he want to prioritize safety and education, but a big issue he wants to work harder on is making the “economy less burdensome for people that want to become entrepreneurs or even as employees of other businesses to prosper as an employee or just as a fully productive member of our district and our society,” he says. According to Kim, Colorado needs to apply a fiscally conservative approach to guarantee the successful economy for all residents of the state.

As a result, Kim would like to see Tabor remain in place. “Tabor is a great check and balance on our state government and hope to be a part of a process where we prioritize our initiatives and constantly live within our means and then remind our constituents that that’s the way we’re operating the state government to stay within the tax structure and not constantly look to try and raise more sources of revenue,” he says.

For A Better Future

In hopes of the social improvement for residents of Colorado, he hopes to be able to address some of the underlying causes of the need for abortions. He hopes to see more effort to help people who are in the condition where they feel like abortion is the only option and would not sponsor any legislation to outlaw abortion as a senator. Regarding law enforcement and first responders he hopes to support them with the resources that they need. He believes that we do not need more laws, but we should enforce them to create a safer and supportive district.
