Proposition 115 protects human life from the moment a baby can survive outside the mother’s womb. At 22 weeks, the baby can suck her thumb, respond to her mother’s voice and above all the preborn can feel pain during the abortion procedure, which in the last months of pregnancy involves the dismemberment or poisoning of the baby.
Colorado is an extreme case in the US and in the world because it allows abortions for any reason, without any restrictions, up to the moment of birth. Only 6 other states in the US and only 4 countries in the world allow these types of abortions (3 of these countries are human rights abusers).
Proposition 115 is very reasonable since it only limits abortion after 22 weeks while still allowing a woman almost 5 ½ months to have a choice about her pregnancy. Proposition 115 does not penalize or criminalize the woman whatsoever for having an abortion. Rather, the goal of Proposition 115 is to protect women and their babies by giving them better options and helping them in their difficult circumstances.
The measure provides exceptions for ectopic pregnancies, miscarriages and when necessary to save the life of the mother. The trauma and risks to women associated with late-term abortion, along with the notion that a baby can be aborted up to the moment of birth and so violently, is an inhuman act.
Coloradans of different races, ethnicities and religion, Democrats, Republicans and Independents have joined their voices in support of Proposition 115. Let’s give each of our precious babies the opportunity to reach their full potential and each mother compassionate alternatives to abortion.
Vote Yes on Proposition 115 and join the movement.
