The International Exhibition of Graphic Humor, curated by the renowned Cuban artist Carlos Falco, is a prominent attraction within the XIII edition of the Americas Latino Eco Festival (ALEF). The event brings together scientists, writers, artists, policymakers, municipal officials, representatives from the philanthropic sector, youth, and community leaders to explore how to advance tree equity from the perspective of climate justice.
With the participation of artists from over 40 countries, this exhibition “The Giving Tree” offers a unique and humorous perspective on the relevance of trees and their influence on our environment. “This exhibition is a tribute to trees and the idea of equity in green spaces. Trees, with their presence and functions in ecosystems, are fundamental for the balance and prosperity of life on our planet,” said Falco.

Around 70 artists from 40 countries
The exhibition brings together works from around 70 prominent international artists of graphic humor, whose works reflect the importance of trees from various perspectives. The artists hail from 40 different countries around the world. Recognized figures such as Ángel Boligán, Anne Derenne, Elena Ospina, and many others contribute their unique vision to this artistic and environmental celebration.
“The exhibition not only aims to entertain the public but also to inspire positive change in how we relate to our environment. Through humor and creativity, the exhibition invites reflection on topics such as environmental conservation, sustainability, and shared responsibility toward our planet. This exhibition highlights the crucial role that art can play in promoting environmental activism,” Falco adds.

Open to the public during the XIII ALEF
“The Giving Tree” is more than an illustration exhibition. “It is a call to action to protect and value nature,” indicates the exhibition’s catalog. The International Exhibition “The Giving Tree” will be open to the public throughout the duration of the Americas Latino Eco Festival, offering a unique experience that combines art, environmental awareness, and the celebration of nature.
