The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is planning to conduct a major raid in Aurora, Colorado, this Thursday, January 30, as part of a series of immigration operations in different cities across the United States, according to NBC News, which published the report on the Telemundo Noticias portal.

According to NBC News, the Trump administration has set a quota of at least 1,200 daily arrests for each of the 25 regional immigration offices. To meet this target, ICE is carrying out three raids per week in different cities across the country, with the cooperation of several federal agencies, including the Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

This operational strategy was launched after Trump’s inauguration on January 20, according to sources cited by NBC News. The first mass raid took place on Sunday in Chicago, Illinois, resulting in the arrest of hundreds of individuals. The second raid is happening today, Tuesday, in New York, with the presence of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Third city on the list

Now, according to NBC News, the third raid is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, in Aurora, Colorado. Sources consulted by the news outlet indicated that this plan will be repeated weekly in three other cities across the country.

This new operational strategy has raised concerns among immigrant communities and organizations defending immigrant rights, who have warned about the impact of these raids on thousands of families across the United States.
