For decades, Democrat politicians won the Latino vote by promising prosperity and support for our communities. They never delivered. Despite their consistent failures, Latinos persistently voted Democrat, even as the party moved left and abandoned all morality and reason.

Democrat politicians capitalized on our vote, relied upon it, and took it for granted. When their policies failed to be sufficient in keeping Hispanics like me voting Democrat, they sowed fear and division into our community, selling the lie that our Republican neighbors and friends were hateful and racist. As a Mexican American and a Republican, I can confidently tell you this is a lie.

Why Hispanics Broke Free from The Democratic Party Por qué los hispanos se alejaron del Partido Demócrata

I have dedicated my life to working alongside Republicans to make our communities better. We refuse to allow unfair and unregulated immigration, not because we hate Hispanics, but because the open border lowers wages and enables criminal activity.

For the first time in American history, nearly 50% of Hispanic voters voted for a Republican presidential candidate. From 2020 to 2024, Trump’s share of the  Latino vote increased by an astounding thirteen points. What this proves is that Hispanic Americans are finally waking up to the failed policies and promises of the Democratic Party and are finally voting for the party that represents our values of faith, family, and freedom.

To my fellow Hispanic Americans, I encourage you to stop voting for politicians that support open border policies which turn our communities into breeding grounds for predatory international gangs, like Tren de Aragua? Stop voting for a party that prioritizes pro-abortion policy and gender identity over investing in the working class?

They have devalued our citizenship, our sacred right to vote, and our commitment to the rule of law by decimating the southern border of the United States and shuttling illegal immigrants into our legal communities.

This inundation of illegal immigration brought on by senseless policies is wrong. It has lowered our wages, incensed anti-Hispanic sentiment, and made us victims of the same violent gangs which some of our families came, legally, to the U.S. to escape.

Our communities are disproportionately impacted by the flood of illegal immigrants coming into the United States. Now is the time to say, “enough is enough” and continue the trend that started on election night; stop voting for politicians who ruin our communities and start voting for leaders whose values align with our own.

Republican policy is aligned with the values and interests of the Hispanic community which values hard work, religion, and family. In contrast, Democrat politicians have overregulated our businesses and overtaxed our successes, robbing us of the American dream our families struggled to gain access to.

As a Mexican American and a Republican, I am proud to see that my community is finally realizing which party truly reflects the core of our values.

Latinos make up nearly 15% of eligible voters in the United States, and that margin is only expected to increase. President Trump and the Republican Party have recognized this and leaned into the values which unite us.

Last week, with help from the Republican Party, Latinos finally recognized our political and economic power. We will never vote for the same, sad, Democrat agenda again. Voting Republican is voting for a better America for everyone – minority and majority alike.

Now, the Republican Congress has the responsibility to prove to Hispanics that they made the right choice.
