El Comercio de Colorado won 14 awards at the recent 2021 José Martí Journalism Awards edition. These awards are given by the National Association of Hispanic Publications (NAHP) of the United States and is based on the opinion of over twenty experts in various areas of journalism and editorial publishing. “The judges of the NAHP José Martí Awards shared that the quality of the entries evaluated this year was quite exceptional” said Kirk Whisler, NAHP representative.
NAHP has 232 affiliated media outlets in 41 markets in 31 states of the American Union. “Our organization shows the dynamism of the publishing business run by Hispanic owners. We currently have the largest number of affiliated media since 2002. NAHP membership grew 53 percent since 2020 and 527 percent since 2016,” added Whisler. The José Martí awards were presented within the framework of the NAHP’s annual convention dedicated to editorial business opportunities in the wake of the pandemic.
