DoorDash announced the Colorado winners of its Restaurant Acceleration Program.The winners are 20 local minority restaurant owners based in Aurora, Denver, Littleton and Longmont. DoorDash launched the Local Restaurant Accelerator to increase access to opportunities for restaurant owners, including women, immigrants, and people of color, supporting people to reach their full potential. The Local Restaurant Accelerator provides $20,000 grants, training and education, one-on-one business coaching, marketing benefits and more to select restaurant owners. Participants represent a diverse cohort of restaurateurs and business owners, the majority of whom are women, immigrants, and people of color. Many of the participants in Denver reflect the city’s rich Latin American heritage.
To make the selection of beneficiaries, DoorDash worked together with Accion Opportunity Fund (AOF). The AOF is a financial support system for small businesses that promotes racial, gender, and economic justice for all. At the same time, DoorDash onboarded the Denver chapter of the Hispanic Restaurant Association to provide localized information and resources to our Local Restaurant Accelerator participants.

Eighty-seven percent of restaurant owners who participated in the Accelerator For Local Restaurants cohorts identified as people of color and 59 percent identified as women. To date, over 1,000 businesses have completed the free online Accelerator courses and over 115 restaurateurs from 6 cities have completed the Accelerator for local restaurants in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Philadelphia, guided by some of the most renowned businessmen and chefs in the industry.
