The 7th Colombian Festival organized by the Colombian Foundation in Colorado already has a date. This annual event promises to be a day filled with fun and Colombian culture for all attendees. One of the highlights of the festival will be the extraordinary Colombian artists who will captivate the audience with their talent and passion.

Those who attend Pulaski Park on July 23 will be able to enjoy Studio Colombia, an extraordinary dance group led by Julio Martínez. Vallenato music will be represented by the group “Matilde Lina,” who will get everyone dancing to their contagious and joyful music.

Cumbia and Salsa Orchestra

But undoubtedly, one of the main attractions of the festival will be the participation of other musical and artistic genres that characterize Colombia. Cumbia and salsa will come to life with the “Son de la Zona” orchestra, composed of young professional musicians residing in Colorado. Wilson Mendez and Levinger Rojas Tellez lead this band.

“We have gathered talented musicians with experience in renowned groups like Grupo Niche and other orchestras. We have prepared a diverse repertoire that will encompass everything from cumbia and reggaeton to salsa from emblematic artists such as Joe Arroyo and Grupo Niche,” said Méndez, the musical director of “Son de Zona.”

The Marimba

Alejandro Ruíz and Evelyn Soto, who form the group “Resonar Latino,” bring their marimba. They will perform a repertoire of danceable music, but with the characteristic touch of rhythms heard in the southern Colombian Pacific region. “We explore the marimba, a special instrument from southern Colombia,” said Alejandro.

He and Evelyn have studied and immersed themselves in the musical traditions of Colombia, blending indigenous rhythms with urban influences to create a unique and vibrant style. Additionally, they shared that they will present festival attendees with songs from their upcoming album, which they hope will gain recognition in the Hispanic music industry.

And to complete the lineup of artists, Jhonez Peña, a salsa and urban music singer, will also be performing. “We wanted our festival to showcase the variety of Colombian talent we have in Colorado. These artists have universal quality and will enrich the festival. We invite you to experience the joy and music of Colombia,” said Xiomara Sánchez, president of the Colombian Foundation in Colorado.

Unforgettable Gastronomy

The event organizers invite everyone who wants to discover the delights of the Caribbean, the mountains, and the Colombian Pacific. Various Colombian restaurants in Colorado will be presented, allowing the public to taste sancocho, carne oreada, bandeja paisa, chicharrones, and arepas.
