There are awards that are received with pride. But there are others that feel like a collective hug. The Digital Innovation Award granted by the Local Media Association to El Comercio de Colorado belongs to that second category.

This recognition is not only for our editorial team. It also belongs to you, our readers, followers, and members of this great community that has decided to accompany us every day. For two decades, we have worked to inform, guide, and connect the Hispanic community in Colorado.

We did it first from our print pages, which remain an essential part of our identity. But journalism changes, audiences evolve, and we understood that we needed to grow along with you.

That is why we expanded our digital presence, strengthened our website, and transformed our social media platforms into living spaces for conversation, information, and connection. Today we can say with enormous satisfaction that this bet is yielding results. In the last 12 months, our digital community grew by 200 percent.

Furthermore, our social platforms generate a monthly average of 2.8 million views. These are figures that move us deeply because behind each number there is a person, a family, a story, and a trust placed in our work. This new award recognizes precisely that transformation.

The judges rewarded the way in which we have managed to connect with our digital audience. We know that this growth is possible thanks to you. Every comment you leave on our posts, every message you send us, every discussion about our content, and every suggestion has helped us better understand our community.

You have taught us to listen more, to react faster, and to tell stories in a more relatable way. In times when journalism faces enormous challenges, we choose to continue believing in the power of the community. We believe in local journalism, in Spanish content, and with English versions.

We believe in the need for the Latino community to have a strong, visible, and respected voice. This recognition motivates us to keep innovating, growing, and working with the same passion. Because more than an award, what we are celebrating today is the relationship we have built together. Thank you for reading us. Thank you for joining us. Thank you for growing with us.
