History calls upon us to be part of a milestone that will completely transform the community dynamics of our region. State authorities have launched an open and massive invitation for all residents to actively join the celebrations for the historic double anniversary commemorating 250 years of the United States Declaration of Independence and 150 years of Colorado’s admission as the Centennial State.
Alejandra Garza, a member of the organizing commission, highlights that this festivity represents a unique opportunity. “It will be possible to make visible the rich contributions and the profound cultural diversity that define our communities, demonstrating that the social fabric of Colorado is built day by day with everyone’s effort,” Garza said.

Events across the state
As Garza explains, the central purpose of this monumental commemoration is to decentralize patriotic pride and ensure that events resonate in every corner of the state territory. The activities are designed to generate a strong sense of belonging and unity, connecting families through art, education, and recreation.
“The organizing commission has structured a series of interactive and dynamic experiences that allow citizens to rediscover their shared heritage and reflect on our collective future, especially motivating the newer generations to leave their own mark on this great celebration of identity,” Garza indicated.
Airplane arriving with the documents
As a preamble to the double celebration, the Freedom Plane arrives directly. This aircraft brings documentary pieces of incalculable historical value, including the original engraving of the Declaration of Independence, the Treaty of Paris, and drafts of the Constitution. The exhibition can be viewed at History Colorado until June 14.

Passports
One of the most dynamic ways to join the commemoration is through the official passport program. This initiative invites families to explore different historical destinations and parks throughout the state, recording their visits to obtain special stamps and exclusive souvenirs that promote local tourism.
