Starting from the fall of 2024, the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) will cover the payment of standard tuition and mandatory fees for undergraduate students from Colorado who meet the requirements. The program called UNC Tuition Promise will reduce the financial burden of the neediest students, making education affordable and accessible.
Students who meet the requirements for the program will be guaranteed payment of standard tuition and mandatory fees for up to 16 credits, or a maximum of $5,836 per semester. This aid will increase as tuition and fees rise. Approximately one thousand currently enrolled undergraduate students will benefit from this, including prospective students who are residents of Colorado or eligible for ASSET.
“The UNC Tuition Promise is an example of our commitment to being a student-centered university. We strive to eliminate barriers and provide students with a financially reachable path to earning a degree, improving their lives and communities, and contributing to the state of Colorado,” said Andy Feinstein, president of UNC.
New Students
In the fall of 2023, UNC launched the Colorado First-Year Admission Guarantee program as part of its commitment to providing all qualified and prepared students access to higher education. The program guarantees admission to Colorado high school students who meet the requirements, as well as providing clarity around the college admission process.
Since the launch of this program, the university has observed sustained increases in the quality of students applying to and being admitted to the university. Feinstein ensures that by combining these two unique programs, “UNC positions itself to serve as Colorado’s premier comprehensive regional institution, where equitable access and success are at the center of the student experience.”
