The edition you’re holding in your hands — or perhaps reading on your phone — is the 500th edition of El Comercio de Colorado. That number, 500, is more than just a round figure. In ancient Athens, the Council of 500 helped shape the city’s democratic agenda. It was an institution that fostered public discussion and collective decision-making. Today, we celebrate that same spirit: encouraging dialogue, reporting responsibly, and serving as a bridge between citizens.
This 500th edition also marks the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new chapter. Since our founding, we’ve evolved to become a multimedia platform. Our print edition remains essential. We circulate in both urban and rural areas, reaching those who prefer to read in print, and often those with limited access to other sources — the so-called “hard to reach.” For them, we continue printing and delivering — in Spanish.
El Comercio de Colorado Reaches 500 Editions
At the same time, we update our digital channels daily. Through our website and social media, we offer context, access to primary sources, and a professional perspective on the issues that matter. No fearmongering. No overload. Our mission is to inform with clarity, guided by an editorial policy grounded in balance. We aim to help readers understand — not overwhelm them.
We’re grateful that so many have joined us on this journey. So far in 2025, our digital platforms and social media have surpassed 15 million visits. But this isn’t just about metrics — it’s about purpose. We believe informing is a form of service. It means facilitating access to opportunity. It means honoring the written word and opening doors to knowledge — whether in Spanish or in English.
El Comercio de Colorado Reaches 500 Editions
This 500th edition is a reason to celebrate, yes — but above all, it’s a moment to reaffirm our commitment to you, our reader. It’s not always easy to talk about ourselves, but today we do so to express our gratitude for your trust, and to renew our promise to remain steadfast, useful, and close to you. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your community. And here’s to many more editions to come.
