Jannet Vizguerra, a leading activist in the sanctuary movement in the U.S., has voiced her opposition to Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to Aurora, Colorado, scheduled for Friday, October 11. Vizguerra sees the former president’s presence as a provocation and a direct attack on the Latino and immigrant community. “It’s an uncomfortable visit because he really brings nothing good, only criticism. We know his political agenda is based on attacks, especially on the Latino and immigrant community,” she stated.

Vizguerra also questioned Trump’s repeated references to the Tren de Aragua, noting that there is no concrete evidence of this criminal gang having significant control in Aurora. “So far, we have not seen solid proof from the Aurora government, or any other authority, confirming that these people belong to the Tren de Aragua. They have committed crimes, yes, but it has not been determined that they are part of that gang,” she added. In her view, Trump’s comments only foster hatred and division.

Bad Genes

Regarding Trump’s recent remarks about Latinos having “bad” genes, Vizguerra did not hesitate to call them “stupid insults” and pointed out that the former president should examine his own actions. “He should look at his own life and everything he has done wrong before criticizing others. There are good people and bad people, but that has nothing to do with genes,” she concluded. Vizguerra emphasized that the community must stay united to resist Trump’s divisive policies and rhetoric.
