Adelante Community Development (ADC), a one-stop shop for Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs and their families, is inviting the entire community to participate in the Adelante Latina Convention. This convention is an initiative that ACD has been developing in association with The Rose Community Foundation and Adams County Government.

“Our goal is to inspire and empower Latinas in Colorado. We want all women to prepare themselves to succeed by using the appropriate resources and tools to achieve it. At the convention, we will offer informative panels, and breakout sessions in various areas and topics”, said María González, CEO and founder of ACD.

González went on to explain the details of the event. “People who attend are going to hear presentations from business experts. At the same time, they will be able to exchange impressions with many people from the business world in Colorado. For this reason, this event will allow the building of networks of contacts and connections of great value”.

Free event

Topics to be addressed include how to improve communication, women in leadership, how to fund a start-up, construction business, international trade, and self-care. Local providers of goods and services and representatives of agencies from different levels of government that support the Latino community will be present at the event. The organizers of the Adelante Latina Convention explain that the event is free. But they indicate that people are required to register and thus be able to do so.

Tools for Success

In 2021, the difference between the employment rates of men and women in the United States was about 10 percentage points. This situation was also maintained in 2022, according to data from the US Census Bureau. As of October 2022, 65.6 percent of men had a job, compared to 54.6 percent of women.

“With our event, we seek those women entrepreneurs, professionals, and student, improve their skills to undertake or succeed in the labor market. We want women, adults, youth, and girls, from the Latino community, to be able to leverage their rights, enjoy their freedoms, and reach their potential,” concluded González.
