The pandemic has taken a severe toll on the restaurant industry, with businesses losing revenue and customers due to public health-related concerns, closures and restrictions. Recent public health orders have prohibited all indoor dining, and with winter arriving, outdoor dining options are limited.
To serve this critical job-creating sector, the City of Aurora has launched a grant program. The city will provide grants of up to $10,000 for businesses to cover payroll and commercial rental expenses to commercial establishments located on city grounds. These companies must have been established before May 1st, 2020, and have 50 or fewer employees.
Bars, Breweries, and Banquet Companies
All applicants must have an Aurora business license. Eligible businesses include restaurants, bars with a liquor license for consumption in their facilities, breweries, wineries, distilleries that operate an attached showroom, and catering companies. Applicants must submit documentation necessary to justify the need to receive the grant.
Aurora has provided three rounds of assistance to city businesses since April 2020. Restaurants that previously received funding through the first three rounds of Aurora funding are not eligible for this grant. The grant cannot be used to cover the needs already financed by other programs or grants received by the applicants.
